![]() We have another resale shop working with Days for Girls and this one has an extra bonus! Todo Bueno is located on the carretera at Hidalgo #231 near S&S Auto in Riberas. Much of the proceeds from their sales go to benefit the Outreach Committee of St. Andrews Anglican Church. In turn, the Outreach Committee allocates all of their money to local lakeside charities for specific, approved purposes. Days for Girls has received Outreach Committee grants:
When you consign your items to Todo Bueno under our Days for Girls account, you get a double-your-money benefit! We have consignment relationships with all three of these popular resale shops listed below. Take your gently used clothing, shoes and accessories to Mia’s. Take your no-longer-needed furniture, household items (really, anything of value) to Todo Bueno or to It’s Kinda Bazar. You can consign anything under the Days for Girls account at these stores. They will call us when they have money to pick up. Easy! And it is another great way to benefit our girls at Lakeside!

![]() We have formed a new group from within our DFG Lake Chapala Team we are calling our Good Will Ambassadors. Under the leadership of Lu Wyland, the Ambassadors distributed posters and brochure packets to 75 local businesses and restaurants to promote our campaign to reach 1000 Girls with menstrual management kits and health education. In January, the Ambassadors delivered thank you cards in English and Spanish to these 75 businesses to announce the attainment of the 1000 Girls goal (achieved in December 2018!) and to show appreciation for the help from these merchants with displaying our poster and brochures. Several Ambassadors distribute brochures and provide information about DFG at the Tuesday Organic Market and other populated gathering places. Members of the Ambassadors Team include: Weezie Burgess, Dee Dee Camhi, Elena Ceballos, Kim Davin, Hana Figuera, Kathy Knight, Robyn Lake, Alejandra Lazcano, Trisha Litz, Darlene Macleod, Becky McGuigan, Pat Mogford, Rhonda Newcombe, Sandy Nichol, Connie Pecsar, Jan Quarton, Laurette Russell, Cheryl Stordahl, Sabrina Swainson, Myra Williams, Jeannie Winton, and Lu Wyland. If you would like to join the Ambassador’s Promotion Team, email Darlene Macleod at darmacleod@gmail.com. Training will be provided. We welcome your ideas for spreading Good Will about Days for Girls throughout our Lake Chapala community. It's Kinda Bazar ... and Mia's Helping Days for GirlsThese two resale shops have opened accounts for Days For Girls and anyone can consign items there to benefit DFG.
We now have consignment relationships with both these popular resale shops. Take your slightly used clothing, shoes and accessories to Mia's. Take your no-longer-needed furniture and household goods to It's Kinda Bazar. You can consign anything under the Days for Girls account at either store. They will call us when they have money to pick up. Easy! It's another way to benefit our girls at Lakeside. DFG keeps girls in school. Our FLUYE program is really reaching our girls. Recently during the component that covers sexual violence several girls in the group came forward with their own experiences of sexual assault. Below is Hana’s response to that situation: "As I see it, yesterday was the day their pain became seen, and hopefully the day their voices will begin to be heard.
Also, it was the day that these girls realize they are NOT GUILTY of the abuse they have gone through, and that they have the POWER to heal and CHANGE THAT. Also, that they are responsible to take care of themselves, and gather the strength to help other girls that might go through the same situation. It was a day where they realized they are not alone in their pain. And other girls realized the sorrow that some of their soul sisters are living. It was a day that brought them together as women to support each other. That part was incredibley beautiful to see. I couldn’t sleep last night. We are touching deep roots of the reality of violence against girls and women. Realizing that each one of these girls CAN transform their pain into the power of saying No and into inner strength for no longer tolerating abuse, takes my breath away..." This is why we need this expansion of the DFG education model into the Fluye 10-hour education program. The video that Hana made will help you get a feel for Fluye and the power it has. |
